Seductive and bright, this wine offers a core of ripe raspberry purée, sweet cherry, wild berry, strawberry cheesecake and floral notes that weave their way through the fruit. Balanced, vivacious and medium structured with plenty of sweet fruit. A fine finish of red fruit lingers on the palate. A very flirtatious wine. 250 cases produced.
Harry’s Vineyard 2007 has a soft, rich, plush and immediately appealing character with flavors of red fruits (raspberry and strawberries), blood and hints of sage. It is a medium bodied wine with a soft entry, a rich mid palate and still a slightly drying finish.
Unfortunately, because I love it, this is the only time I will produce wine from this vineyard. Minuscule yields produced a huge, massive, inky black wine. It has brooding, dark aromas with smoke, dark berries, huckleberry and figs. Very big, dense and structured yet creamy and approachable.
I crafted it by blending three vineyards: 56% Harry’s Vineyard, 25% Spring Mountain and 19% Rutherford. The different structures of the three vineyards weave together to create a rich, dense, balanced, plush and creamy wine. Ripe, dark fruits meld with flowers, smoke, licorice, tar and mineral as this fresh and vinous red opens up in the glass. There is a wonderful purity and sheer density to the fruit that caresses the palate all the way through to the round, engaging finish. A gorgeous wine.
This is a new vineyard I started working with in 2007. The wine has a classic Rutherford character. It is an elegant, classy wine with aromas of cranberry, spices, smoke, cedar and sap notes. It is rich and balanced revealing a slight dryness on the finish that will attenuate with further aging.
A very big and voluptuous wine. It is packed with tannins but very soft and velvety tannins. Complex aromas of blackberry, violet, licorice, ink and rocks ooze out of the glass. Lots of yum factor in this one.
Bright and juicy with a mouthful of fresh red fruits at the core and caramel, balsa wood and currants adding nuances to the wine. A big yet bright, fresh and savory wine packed with red cherry. 220 cases produced.
Black and blue berries, a waft of rose petal, hints of anis and meaty notes adds interest as the silky texture carries through the finish. A dense yet soft wine packed with lots of ripe red fruits and vanilla. 96 cases produced.
